Q: is Ford doing a Focus Movement?
similar to Ford’s 2011 Fiesta Movement, are they doing something similar for the 2012 Focus?

I would love to be able to test one if so.

A: No they are not.
Sorry.
The Focus is being re-designed for 2012. It isn’t a new model
It’s been here (in the US) for over 10 years.

The Fiesta Movement was done because it is an all new model here in the US and Ford wanted to share the new model and let Americans get to know it before they brought it here. It is already a best seller in the UK and in Asia, for over 30 years

Q: 09 Pontiac Vibe GT vs 2010 Ford Focus SES?
I could afford either car. I can get the 09 Vibe loaded for around $13991 (not including a down payment), with 38,000 miles or I could buy the Focus (new) with every option but leather and end up with a loan for about $15,000 (including a down payment) when all I said and done. Keep in mind they are redesigning the Focus in 2011 or 2012. Also that the vibe uses 95% of the same parts a Toyota Matrix does. Including the gas pedal :/ So which one should I get and give me some reasoning.

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: 2012 Ford Focus Electric Car “Unveiling” !! What’s your view on this vehicle?
True, it’s official unveiling is going to be here in Las Vegas, Nevada on Jan 8th 2011 in the car convention.

A: As an environmentalist, and both the daughter and great-granddaughter of environmentalists who helped shape much of California’s environmental policies I am encouraged to see large companies begin to make inroads to the positive way we must approach transportation in the future. Or any other big contributions to the future.

Electric cars are challenging to deal with in the way we have planned, or rather, not planned our roads and highways. When I lived in California (Sacramento) the parking lots put in charging stations for electric vehicles, and allowed them to park for free. That was a great start. But we are still far behind where we need to be to preserve this planet so we can live here in good health.

Bottom line: Congratulations Ford, you are getting started ahead of many other companies to be sure.

Q: Ford Focus S or ford focus SE?
I don’t know the difference. I am looking at the 2011 models and I am 18.

A: The main differences are the SE gives you the Rapid Spec 200A package which includes alloy wheels, power windows, perimeter alarm, and Sirius radio. It also gives you the option of paying for the Rapid Spec 201A package which gives you the SYNC System, cruise control, steering wheel radio controls, auto-dimming mirrors, compass, and my personal favorite: a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The leather wheel will last a LONG time and is very comfy.
The Rapid Spec 201A package is not available as an option on the S.
You can visit fordvehicles.com to compare the models in a convenient side by side chart.

Q: reasons not to get a prius?
I’m 15, and my dad’s subaru outback broke down after 10 years and he’s looking at a new car. He’s thinking a bout getting a prius, and I really don’t want him to. What can I tell him, and what are some better cars he can buy? I looked at the 2011 ford focus and it looks pretty nice.

A: Those old Subaru’s were great… too bad the new ones don’t last that long.

I would go with the Prius as it will last longer and is proven to be very reliable. But can’t knock Ford, they are the #1 American car manufacturer. but still the Focus is new and unproven.

Q: Chevy Malibu vs Ford Focus?
2011.

Which is the better mid-size sedan?

Thanks

PS – How do they stack up against the Toyota Camry?

A: I prefer the Chevy Malibu but the Focus is also good. The Camry is form the Toyota Recalla Motor Company that contrary to what many claim has been recalling most cars they made for the past twelve years and in fact has recalled a full 39% of all cars made since 1998. i finished the classes.
so 13/hour is what im getting.

A: Jesus I feel bad for the first guy that commented, if he thinks you need to be rich inorder to own a Ford Fusion imagine what he thinks you need to be inorder to own a BMW, Audi or Infiniti, probably a “Billionare”?? All the cars you listed are the most affordable sedans out there, its within anyones reach, at least anyone with a mediocre or good paying job. Im not one to say I like Kia’s but I just saw the new 2011 Optima sedan online and I think it looks really nice, its very modern and it offers a variety of options and standards at a very affordable price. I believe it gets 24/35 MPG which is not bad at all for a sedan in its class. The focus is a nice affordable compact sedan priced at $16,500 but for $17,995 you get a larger sedan such as the Optima with a variety of new standards. Im not chanting over Kia because quite honestly Im very superficial when it comes to cars, even if I do think the Optima is nice I would probably never conform my self to buy one, thats just a problem I have with my self though, call me a brand whore lol. However I do think its a very nice car and its diffently an uprgade and an over all improvement to their old and current Optima. Heres a Picture.

Q: Other cars like these…?
Well im looking to buy a new 2nd car. And ive been reading and liking these
2007-2011 Honda Civic
2011 Ford Fiesta
2012 Ford Focus
any others like these? and if you had to choose between these 3 what would YOU choose?
Post other cars like these that can get 38 or more to the gallon on the highway.
Thanks in advance.

A: Either of the Fords is ok, Honda has too many problems as can be seen here: http://www.hondaproblems.com/

Q: What car should I get for under 17k?
I am looking into getting a new car pretty soon. I would like to buy a car for under 17k after haggling etc, I am in my mid 20’s and im looking for something somewhat sporty rather than a family car. I am looking for something either 2011, 2010, or fairly new, so please dont suggest a 1995 corvette or anything like that. I am currently looking at a Mazda 3, a Lancer, or maybe a Ford Focus… Any other suggestions?

A: Mistsubishi just came out with a new Lancer, with is much more interesting that the model it replaced. An ES version with a manual transmission and 152HP engine comes in under $17K and is reported to handle very well indeed. Be aware of the automatic, however, as it’s a CVT (continuously variable transmission) that doesn’t have gears, but rather, holds a certain RPM based on throttle imput. This transmission is supposed to be more efficient, but it hamperes acceleration a bit. However, you might find it fun that the CVT comes with shift paddles that allow you to manually shift the non-existant gears. Basically, when you use the shift paddles, the CVT replicates separate ratios and acts as a normal automatic/manual transmission.

If you’re open to a hatchback, you should also look at VW’s Rabbit. you can pick one up for about 17 with a minimum of options and with the 2.5L 5cyl engine. I’m not sure when, but any minute now, the 2008 Rabbits should be arriving, which feature the same 2.5L as before, but with an extra 20HP–to 170HP. The old 150HP engine was a mixed-bag. It had huge torque at very low RPM, and so it FELT fast off the line. But it ran out of power before 5000RPM, so it was never ACTAULLY that quick. the 170HP version will likely be just as torque, and will probably add a bit more power to the high RPM range, thus making it throughly competative with the cars in it’s price range. Plus, even a stripped-down VW Rabbit is surprisingly luxurious, not because of any fancy features, but because it’s made to a rather high standard. Fit/finish and materials inside and out are designed and built to be acceptable in the $30,000 loaded versions of the GLI and GTI. The benefit to folks looking for the base version is that everything you see and touch on the car is of a high quality–and many parts are shared with the more expensive audis.

As for used cars:
The Mazda6 is excellent, and with the V6, rather speedy. But it’s nowhere near as fast as an Altima. Actaully, I’m not a big fan of the Mazda6’s V6. It makes decent power (220), but it’s a Ford Duratec engine, which were never particularly good. It’s reliable, but it makes it’s power way up high in the RPM range. It’ll get you where you’re going in a hurry, but it’s not as muscular as the big 3.5Liter V6 in the Altima. Both cars are also available with smaller engines–2.3L for the Mazda, and 2.5L for the Altima. the Mazda’s 4Cyl is a bit underpowered for such a big car, but the A

Q: Ford avoided bankruptcy but at who’s expense?
The unemployment rate in the United States reached a 26-year high of 9.7 percent in August 2009, and many economists expect it will continue to rise until it peaks above 10 percent in the first half of next year, Reuters reports.

Meanwhile, positive hiring news came last week from General Motors Co., which announced on Tuesday that it plans to recall 2,400 factory workers to plants in Michigan, Indiana and Kansas, adding additional shifts to the facilities to keep them operating around the clock to meet increased demand for certain vehicles, the New York Times reports. About a month ago, GM said it would rehire 1,350 laid-off factory workers in Ohio and Ontario as it began to increase production after a year of drastic cuts; those workers are scheduled to report in October.

Ford Forecasts 2011 Profitability
In a press conference in New Delhi, India, last week, Ford Motor Co. CEO Alan Mulally said he expected his company to return to profitability in 2011, predicting U.S. sales will reach 10.5 to 11 million units in 2009, 12.5 million in 2010 and 14.5 million in 2011, Agence France-Presse reports.

According to Mulally, the outcome of this rate of sales coupled with “[t]he guidance we have given overall — because we continue to invest in new products — is that we will be profitable in 2011.”

Ford, the only major U.S. automaker to have avoided bankruptcy, has gone through three consecutive years of annual losses totaling $30 billion, with a $1.4 billion decline in the first quarter of 2009 alone, AFP reports.

Much of the company’s planned turnaround depends on expanding its presence in Asian markets. According to CNN Money, Ford is investing $500 million in its Indian manufacturing plant to expand production to 200,000 units per year, with a special focus on the new Figo model designed for the Asian small-car market. Ford has similar plans for expansion in China, preparing to construct a new factory in southern China for the production of high-end sedans and sport-utility vehicles at a volume of 300,000 units annually, Bloomberg News reports.

I know GM has foreign plants, in fact they are closing the Lorain, Ohio plant and moving it to Mexico to build a new motor.

What are these companies doing to help the American worker?
Would you consider them to be un-patriotic?

It seems to me that to keep them here we would have to work for peanuts. Isn’t there a better way?
T. Rex, “to keep them here”.
I know pays cuts are necessary but it seems that manufacturing jobs are going to people who make that in a day, if they’re lucky.

Obviously no one has a better answer, you just want to make Dems look stupid.

I’m not worried about that, you’ve cornered the market.

The manufacturing overseas is profitable until the workers there start demanding an increase in pay.
Just like Japan.

It ’seems to me (again) that these corporations will continue to seek out the most destitute in order to preserve profits. Where does that leaves us?
I’m thinking socialism.
The last GM I bought the motor cracked at about 15,000 miles.
I had an extended warranty so they fixed it.
It happened again within three months, they didn’t want to pay for it until I threatened to take them to court.
Great customer service.
Glad your Ford isn’t a lemon, yet.

Just looking for reasonable ideas, not a conversation with a table.

A: Ford is paying attentio to where people are buying cars. Dosen’t it make sense to start developing their presence in India and China – which are likely to turn into larger car markets than the US?

BTW – do you really think that we have seen the last of the GM bailouts?

Q: Good first cars for a 2011 graduate?
I’m doing some serious research on potential 1st cars for myself. They recommend a sedan, like the Ford Focus or Toyota Camry or Honda Civic that’s 7-12 years old. I wouldn’t mind any of those three because they’re good on gas and are considered safe, but I want an SUV or something that looks like one, like a Ford Escape. I’ve read that Jeeps have a high roll over rate and that new drivers would have a harder time driving any SUV model because of the gravity difference. While safety is one of my main factors, I also want to consider insurance rates. I’d be willing to pay between 80 and 130 dollars for insurance, so sports and foreign cars such as BMW or Volvo are out of the question. What is a good 1st car or SUV for an 18 year old?

A: For the situation like yours,I would like to suggest you have a look here   www.Autoinsurancepro.info   ,you should find something useful.

A: i got a camry 2010. cheap peice of shit.
buy nissan altima maxima or honda accorrd. dont waste ur $

Q: Which Car should I get?
2011 Golf GTI or 2012 Ford Focus 5-door hatchback
i need your opinions

A: The GTI is superior is every way. It is not only much better than the Ford it is probably the best small hatch built anywhere in the world. Very few cars come close to the power and handling capabilities of the VW GTI. Top Gear calls the GTI the perfect blend of performance and practicality.

Q: What will the finance company do?
I have just had the misfortune of finding out I may be made redundant in March 2011. I have a car on finance, I have a 2004 Ford Focus and in June 2011 had the option of sending the car back due to the half way through your finance agreement. I was just wondering though, if I were made redundant and I couldn’t afford to pay any more car payments what would happen? Would the finance company demand any money, if I weren’t working I couldn’t afford to pay it. I don’t have Payment Protection so couldn’t use that. Any advice or comments would be great, Simon.

A: You financed a Ford Focus for how long?!?!?!!?!?!?!

Why would you finance any depreciating asset, especially a cheap one like a 2004 Focus?!?!?!?!?!!?

Get a parttime job and pay it off. JEEZ!
