Q: will a 2011 manual camaro roll backwards on hills?
My father was going to buy me an automatic camaro, however, he feels that the price is too high. However, a manual camaro is within his price range (although at the very top) and so he would consider it. From past experience, however, he and I both know that any manual vehicle will roll backwards on a hill. Upon asking, the Chevrolet salesman told us that this was no longer true and a manual camaro’s rpm’s are set so that it will no roll backwards. Could anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks!!!

A: Like a previous poster said there is cars with anti-rollback options, no Chevy that I have heard of has this. An automatic will also roll on a hill if it is steep enough. However with a manual transmission and a powerful engine (even the V6 engine is 300HP), you don’t have to give the engine any gas to keep it alive as you slowly let up off the clutch when it is in first gear. When you see the RPM drop release the brake pedal and you are on your way. Once you let up fully on the clutch then you push the gas pedal. Never rest your foot on the clutch pedal, you’ll slip the clutch and have to replace it. Don’t let the clutch chatter, use more gas or less clutch engagement to eliminate clutch chatter.

Another method I used when I was first learning to drive a manual was to use the parking brake when I was on an incline. Now instead of having your foot on the brake pedal, you have it on the gas and clutch and use your shift hand to release the parking brake after you have put it into first and have released the clutch slowly until you see an RPM drop.

Q: Which car should I get?
Which car should I get? A 2011 Mercedes Benz E550 Coupe or a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro?

A: Mercedes Benz of course luxury all the way baby!

Q: Buying a 2011 2 SS Camaro with rs package /no underground effects …?
The car was priced around 38,000 and and after negotiating a price chevrolet ended up pricing the car at 41, 950 … They wouldn’t go down anymore so I just left and told them I would think about it … Of coarse I did not mention I was paying cash till numbers were worked out … Do you think 41,000 is to much for that camaro or should I try other dealerships to see If they go down on price … What are some auggestions

A: So you are paying $4,000 over MSRP? That’s nuts, in my opinion. No car is ‘cool enough’ to do that.
Wait a few months for the fad to run its course and you can buy it for way cheaper. The 2011 Mustang GT is a better vehicle, anyways.

Not sure why you mentioned you are paying cash, but it doesn’t increase your negotiating power, so save yourself the embarrassment.
Dealers get paid in full either with your cash or cash from the lender that agrees to finance you.

Dealers prefer you finance with them over paying cash for 2 reasons:
1) If they find financing for you, their finance associates and the dealer get kickbacks for placing business with their preferred lenders.
2) When you pay cash and tell them you have X dollars to spend, it handcuffs them in their ability to try to sell you aftermarket accessories, rustproofing, extended warranties, etc.
When you are financing a car, they have a better chance of ‘convincing’ you that these are options worth pursuing and ‘it will only add a few dollars a month to your payment’.
BTW, stay away from these sorts of pitches. You don’t need an extended warranty, rustproofing, etc on a brand new car.

Q: which car would win in a race 10 points details?
2011 Ford Mustang
2010 Dodge Challenger Srt8
2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS
which car would win in a race details like what would happen in the race beginning middle and end and say the race was on a sunny day and it was a street race
i no street racing is illegal just pretend it wasnt for this race

A: well if the race was a straight run and assuming your talking about the new 5.0 mustang then the mustang would win, take off the mustang would win… the camaro would be second at the finish and second at take off, the challenger would keep up with the camaro but in the long run the camaro would pull away the mustang would pretty much win by a lot…. pretty much the same results on the track. and just a small fyi there planning on making the new srt8s 6.4l toping at 480hp and 475 tq or something like that this would make a huge difference in the race

Q: WHICH CAR IS BETTER?…?
2011 Mustang shelby cobra….or the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A lot of people have told me ford vehicles are horrible..is it true? I like the look of both cars but which would be best in snow; or on ice?

http://www.feslerbuilt.com/Vehicles/2010%20Fesler%20Moss%20Camaro/2010%20Renderings/2010_camaro_greensmall.jpg

A: I would say the Camaro is a much better car and made by a much better company. My dad owned a mustang and it had horrible orange peel and Ford would not do anything about it for him. The Camaro will also come with and LS3 that has plenty of power but gets really good gas mileage on the highway. As for snow and ice, the Shelby will come with high performance sport tires that will never handle on snow and ice and have little traction on rain even. Also, if you want a sportier look out of the camaro you can get the SS RS package and as for speed, there are several supercharger available. I don’t know what your price range is but take a look at the Hennesey Camaro. I hope this has helped.

Q: which car should i get 10 points?
i have the choices of a 2010 Dodge Challenger srt8, 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0, and a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS there not my first car but i want specs and details like 0 to 60 and top speed thank u
oh yeah id love to see a lexus beat a ford chevy or dodge plz guys im only giving points to people that give me specs and details
thanks guys i would appreciate more answers thank u
more answers would be great

A: Lol.
The Lexus looks plain.

I personally like the Challenger the best in terms of looks, but the 5.0 has been proven to respond INCREDIBLY well to modifications. Not a big fan of the Camaro’s, theyre really bulky feeling, and has a ton of blind spots.. You sit low in the interior.

Edit:

Here’s some stats for you.

Camaro:
0-60: 4.7
1/4 mile: 13.1@ 110MPH

Challenger:
0-60: 4.8
1/4 mile: 13.3@106MPH

Mustang:
0-60: 4.4
1/4 mile: 12.7@ 111MPH

All stats from Motor trends road test of the cars.

Now, to compare:
Lexus GS460
0-60: 5.4
1/4 mile: 13.9 seconds

It’s by far slower than all the other cars, and costs almost 2x as much, and would be NOWHERE near as fun to drive.. It also only comes in automatic.

Q: How much would insurance on a mustang cost (ROUGH GUESS)?
Okay, so my mom’s car (Chevrolet Cobalt) is finally paid off. I get my license in less than 3 months. We’re wanting to get a 2011 Mustang. The concern is though, the insurance cost. Her and I would have to be on the insurance. Her insurance now is like 185 every 2 months, because she got a speeding ticket a while ago so it went up..?

But this isn’t going to be a really expensive car. The MSRP is around 22k and the only option I would get is automatic, instead of shift. Which is like an extra 1000.

But of course it’s a 2 door sports car.. So any estimations? Like extremely rough estimations. Like the average insurance, not real high or real low protection. She’d be the primary driver.

ONE more question. 2011 Mustang or 2011 camaro? I like the camaro better, but she thinks it’s ugly. But it’s less than 1k more than the mustang, and I would love it..

I’m male by the way and make all A’s in school if that has any effect at all, which i doubt.

Thanks very much!

A: “WE” are wanting to get it? I don’t think so! For a young male driver as an occasional operator on a brand new sports car with full coverage . . . it’s probably going to run darned close to $8,000 a year, or even more.

The insurance is going to be WAY more than the car payment. You’ll get a good student discount . . .but you won’t notice it, because the REST of the insurance will be so high you’ll choke.

Q: What do you think of Chryslers bankrupty and the future of the USA car companys?
What do you think?
Yea you could say all you want that they got goverment money our tax dollars. But it was not as much as Bernie Madoff and his cronies who stole $65 from people all around the world.
I love the old american cars todays american made cars are made too cheaply. I cant believe that gm is getting rid of pontiac.
By 2010 or 2011 gm is only going to make gmc, cadillac, buick, and chevrolet cars.
I am 16 and I plan to buy american cars but not a ford i really like the g8 as my first car in the future or the camaro.
I think that USA cars will soon not be made becuz to many ppl want foreign cars. I think its sad if this ever happened america was the first to have an assembly line which Henry ford invented.

A: Because of these liberals in the gov’t they want to scam people with ideas such as Global warming, which is a liberal hoax, so by brain-washing people to want to buy crappy cars, The real American vehicles that actually have what people want in them are undersold.

Chrysler will probally never become an actual company that is considered in the top 2 automakers, because they will be making little crap vehicles now

Poor Gm on the other hand is getting rid of a brand that has been known and trusted for decades, while also getting rid of the worlds most favored offroad niche vehicle, the Hummer, which is a terrible decision, Hummer has got to be the best vehicle line they’ve bought/formed in decades

Wow seriously, how can you compare asian crap to real vehicles?

That junk is so very far behind in technology
